Mountain biking is a popular way to enjoy natural areas. But there are increased risks riding in natural areas, and inappropriate cycling practices can degrade the natural area.
Bushwalking NSW has developed a Code for bicycle use similar to the Bushwalker’s Code it developed for bushwalking.
The code covers appropriate places to ride, safety measures and general precautions for riding in isolated areas.
Bushwalking NSW also lodged a Submission on Mountain Biking to the National Parks and Wildlife Service for their Cycling Policy Review and Sustainable Mountain Biking Strategy.
